Domonic Brown sidelined with thumb injury

Domonic Brown is out of the lineup for the third straight game when the Phillies host the Pittsburgh Pirates. He's also not on the travel roster for Friday's game at Lakeland.
The reason? Brown has a sprained right thumb.
Brown injured the digit when he was attempting to make a play in left field in Clearwater on Monday against the New York Yankees. He had an X-ray yesterday and is scheduled to have an MRI today.
"We don't think it's anything serious," assistant GM Scott Proefrock said. "But we're going to take every precaution."
Brown has had thumb injuries in the past, most recently last May, and Proefrock said that was one reason the team medical staff wanted to look it the current injury more closely.
